On Tuesday, basketball NBA management released the voting results for the European Teams category in NBA History. The project was part of a celebration of the league’s 75th anniversary and it had to highlight the contributions of players from the Old Continent.
“European players have always had an indelible impact on the NBA and basketball. On this 75th season, it’s time to pay tribute to the best European player of all time,” STA quoted George Aivazoglou, NBA’s head of European and Arab markets, as saying say part.
The formation of the two teams is based on fan votes and a panel of 40 European media, TV, radio, influencers and celebrities.
There are currently two NBA players in the No. 1 spot. Slovenian Luka Doncic (Dallas) and Greek Giannis Antetokounmpo (Milwaukee) with former Los Angeles Lakers Pau Gasol from Spain and longtime Dallas player Dirk No from Germany Witsky was joined by Frenchman Tony Parker, who wore a San Antonio Spurs jersey for 17 years.
The second team has only one active player — Serbian Nikola Jokic of the Denver Nuggets. In addition to compatriot Peja Stojakovič (1998-2011), Croatian Toni Kukoč (1993-2006) and the late Dražen Petrovič (1989-1993) will join the team. Päťku is played by Lithuanian Arvydas Sabonis, whose son Domantas currently plays for the Sacramento Kings.
